Socially Responsible Investing
The Center has taken an active role in the promotion of Socially Responsible Investing. Brian Bruce is a member of the judging board for the Annual Moskowitz Prize. The Moskowitz Prize is awarded each year to the research paper that best meets the following criteria:
1) practical significance to practitioners of socially responsible investing;
2) appropriateness and rigor of quantitative methods;
3) novelty of results.
The Prize is administered by the Center for Responsible Business at the Haas Business School, University of California at Berkeley.
In addition, the Center sponsors the The Colloquium on Socially Responsible Investing. The Colloquium on Socially Responsible Investing meetings focus on practical research designed to enhance the abilities of investment professionals to better serve their clients. The Colloquium meets to discuss specific research related topics of interest to socially responsible investors. Colloquium members are made up of pension plan sponsors, investment managers, consultants and academics.
The Center also publishes The Investment Research Guide to Socially Responsible Investing. The book features articles that addressed social investing from the standpoint of the outcomes an investor might expect from using the discipline.
